Custom Built ONE-OF-A-KIND GUITARS
hand made GUITARS by FERRO GUITAR
About Ferro Guitar
Built by Hand. Designed with Purpose.
Ferro Guitar is a custom guitar shop based in West Haven, Connecticut, founded by craftsman, artist, and guitar builder Paul A. Ferro Jr.
What began as a lifelong passion for woodworking, music, and creating things by hand has grown into something much more personal: building one-of-a-kind guitars that combine craftsmanship, music, art, and meaning.
Every Ferro Guitar is created to be more than just another instrument hanging on a wall. Each guitar is designed to have its own identity, its own story, and its own purpose.
Meet the Builder
Paul A. Ferro Jr. is a lifelong carpenter, woodworker, artist, and builder from West Haven, Connecticut. With decades of hands-on experience working with wood, tools, construction, and detailed finish work, creating guitars became a natural extension of the skills he had developed throughout his life.
By day, Paul works as a project manager in the disaster restoration industry. At night, he can usually be found in his West Haven workshop designing, engraving, staining, finishing, assembling, or working on the next Ferro Guitar.
The shop became a place where woodworking and creativity could come together with another lifelong love—music.
Paul doesn't believe a guitar has to look like every other guitar coming off an assembly line. A guitar can be a serious musical instrument while also being a piece of functional art.
That philosophy became the foundation of Ferro Guitar.
One Guitar. One Story.
Ferro Guitar specializes in custom electric guitars featuring laser engraving, hand staining, woodworking, CNC work, custom graphics, and unique artistic themes.
Many builds begin with an idea rather than a color.
A Bible verse.
A story.
A person.
A piece of history.
A symbol.
A life experience.
Or simply an image that means something to the person who will own the guitar.
From detailed scrollwork and traditional designs to Christian artwork, Scripture-inspired themes, patriotic pieces, and completely original concepts, the goal is to create an instrument that cannot simply be pulled off the shelf somewhere else.
Much of the artwork is engraved directly into the wood and individually stained and finished by hand. The natural grain of the wood remains part of the artwork, giving every guitar characteristics that can never be exactly duplicated.
Even when two guitars begin with the same idea, no two Ferro Guitars are truly the same.
Faith, Music & Craftsmanship
Faith has become an important influence in many Ferro Guitar designs.
Some of Paul's most meaningful builds have incorporated images and stories inspired by Scripture, including themes surrounding Jesus Christ, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, the Creation, the Good Shepherd, and other Biblical passages and imagery.
These guitars are not intended simply as decoration. They are meant to start conversations and allow faith, art, craftsmanship, and music to exist together on a single instrument.
A guitar can make music.
It can also carry a message.
Made to Be Played
Although the artwork often gets the first attention, Ferro Guitars are built to be real instruments—not just display pieces.
Paul's goal is to combine visual design with quality components, comfortable playability, dependable hardware, and the tone expected from a serious electric guitar.
Each build is approached individually, with careful attention given to the wood, electronics, hardware, neck, setup, finish, and final presentation.
The result is something that can look just as comfortable displayed as a piece of art as it does plugged into an amplifier on stage.
Giving Back Through Music
One of the larger goals behind Ferro Guitar is to use guitar building to help encourage the next generation of musicians.
Paul has been developing opportunities to provide instruments to deserving young musicians who may not otherwise have access to one—particularly students who demonstrate hard work, good character, dedication to music, and commitment to their education.
Music can change the direction of a young person's life. Sometimes all that is missing is the instrument that gives them the opportunity to begin.
As Ferro Guitar grows, giving back through music will remain an important part of what the company represents.
The Future of Ferro Guitar
Ferro Guitar started in a small West Haven workshop with a simple idea:
Build guitars differently.
Not thousands of guitars.
Not identical guitars.
Guitars with character.
Guitars with craftsmanship.
Guitars with stories.
Guitars that mean something to the people who own them.
Paul's long-term vision is to continue growing Ferro Guitar from a passion-driven custom shop into a full-time guitar-building business while never losing the hands-on approach that made it special in the first place.
Whether the design is bold or understated, traditional or completely original, every Ferro Guitar begins the same way:
with an idea, a piece of wood, and the desire to create something that didn't exist before.
